Yaeger CPA Review Course - A Helpful CPA Review Course The Yaeger CPA review course was not the first CPA review course I used. The previous course I used resulted in failing three sections of the CPA exam. That was when I opted for the home study course offered by Yaeger. The result was better than anticipated as I passed the three sections with flying colors.
The Yaeger site states that people who have revised using the Yaeger CPA review course materials have an 88% pass rate on the CPA exam. The founder, Dr. Phil Yaeger, has been preparing people for the exam since 1977. I liked the fact Dr. Yaeger and his team offered access to a teachers help line. It is part of their student support system and is an 800 number. Needless to say, I made plenty of use of this service and even spoke to Dr. Yaeger himself on a number of occasions. The professors were understanding and made sure all my questions were answered before ending the call.
The lecture videos are extremely absorbing and are taught by knowledgeable lecturers. The lecturer would first explain key ideas, and then take the student through multiple choice questions and simulations. The good thing about the Yaeger system is they concentrated on materials with a higher chance of appearing on the exam. The teachers also encourage candidates to study the most relevant questions likely to appear in the exam.
Also worth a mention are Yaeger's cram DVDs which can add between 5 to 15 points to your exam scores. Every DVD teaches a reduced version of a single CPA section and lasts 7-16 hours. These cram DVDs are aimed at highlighting the student's weak areas and adding strength to those areas right before the exam. I doubt it matters which CPA review course you have, the Yaeger cram DVDs will complement any course and give useful last-minute knowledge.
All Yaeger CPA review course materials are are reviewed annually, including lesson videos which are re-filmed every year. Thus, the candidate can have confidence they are learning from the most suitable information.
The price of the Yaeger products caught me by surprise as it is lower than other CPA exam review courses - despite better quality than some. Overall, I am very content with the Yaeger CPA review course and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone trying to succeed in the CPA exam.
